Taxonomy
The olive tree is a tree of the Oleaceae family. The first signs of olive tree presence in Spain begin with the Roman dominion, although its production begins at the hands of the Arabs in Andalusia. It is a rustic crop, like the almond tree, which requires warm climates, tolerates moderately frost, salinity and limestone soils. It has leaves in decocted layout, simple, whole, lanceolate and dark green. Inflorescence in panicle, is hermaphrodite, tetrameric, super ovary, small style, bilobed and papillary stigma. Its fruit is a bicarpelar drupe.
